What is the "Enter Mod Codes" thing on the pause screen about? Do you plan on releasing these mod codes? Love the game! Like others have said, though, the controls are VERY slippery. You find yourself compensating for movement in one direction just to slow down and change direction. Hard arcade arena shooters should be simple to control, as the skill is in avoiding things quickly, and using your mouse with this tactic to aim and shoot at the same time as doing all that.

I found a bug, by the way. Once you earn 25 gems, you can buy the next gun, AND the one after that, as 25 gems aren't deducted from your accrued total, rendering the first upgrade pointless, as you can imme3diately afford the next one, too. Once you have over 100 gems, forget about it. xD

Was I the only one to find that when I was moving, sometimes it felt like it was queuing up your key presses and mouse clicks? Like..

Let's say I just held left and kept shooting to the right, and then started pressing UP, then RIGHT, and kept firing.

It would take the game time to do all that, meaning that wherever you're clicking at the time is lagged behind all the other actions you performed. If you wait a while, it's like watching the game being played for you. xD

The life-bar doesn't fill up completely, sometimes zombies disappear due to a sprite limitation, if you click fast enough, you can make the first bullets you fired disappear. O_o Going off the screen far enough makes you invincible, although it's pointless because you can't see/shoot anything and collect the gems.

That's all I've found so far, and I've enjoyed the game immensely, even WITH the bugs I've mentioned. 3.5 stars, but only because this game has the POTENTIAL to become a 5 star game. The bugs and controls are what's bringing it down 1.5. Awesome work!

DON'T SHOOT THE GAMES MASTER. HE IS COMING FOR ME N

Just concerning those complaining about ads..

Go to google and type in Adblock Plus. It works for IE, Chrome and Firefox. You'll never see a single ad on a game again. If a blank box pops up, simply close it, and you're back to your game. I've just played this through and saw NO ads.

Awesome game, but I agree with Jezzacek, RE: K-90 and enemy movement. As soon as you have the fully upgraded k90, the game is a cinch, albeit a very fun one. Looking forward to PG 5!

Sound - 10/10
Music - 7/10 (Gets repetitive.)
Graphics - 9/10 (Although very plain, more than adequate for what the game is.)
Gameplay - (Subjective, but in my opinion...) 8/10

I would recommend this game to anyone that loved the first PG, and to anyone that likes side-on target acquisition and elimination games. I had a lot of fun with this one, especially towards the end. It could be a little more challenging, but hey, you can't please everyone.. Someone is bound to say it's too hard, even when for some, it's too easy.

Overall, 4.5/5. Thank you for making this game, and thank you for putting so much time and effort in to it!

That, for what it was and how long you worked on it, was amazing. Please do not give up on this project! It could be expanded so much, and I see great potential in it!

The music was fitting for the game, seeing as how everything was cutesy, although the word "KILL!" on the ground sometimes made a refreshing contrast to it, reminding you that it's kill or be killed.

Maybe there's a darker side to the world? Perhaps this is just how you're SEEing the world, when, in fact, you're commanding a small army in a dark, sinister world to take down your enemies?

I don't know, but one thing is for sure. You did a great job with this one, and I really look forward to seeing how you'll expand upon it!

Controls seemed perfect, both responsive and intuitive.

I've only left off half a star because it needs to be built upon, but as a concept, I'd give it 5 stars any day.

Honestly, I would have given this game a full 5 stars if I didn't have to re-learn the locations of the arrows. Because I've been brought up with DDR, it feels odd pressing up where it felt that down should have been.

Otherwise, great game, lots of fun, just disappointing that the up and down arrows aren't the other way round.

That was the most fun I've had playing a flash game in a very, VERY long time. The graphics were as retro, cute and clear as they needed to be, the levels were challenging without being pretentious (The final level.

Oh dear lord do you need to have climbed up that difficulty curve to clear THAT one!

Good luck! It's totally worth it, not for the ending, but for having beaten it legitimately, and having had fun the whole time.

Thank you, Mr. TheSpyDog. You are all shades of awesome. Never stop making games, and the whole world will continue to benefit from your awesome level design, themes, and addicting gameplay.

4.5 Stars. I knocked off .5 because (SPOILER)! STOP READING HERE IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU COMPLETE IT!

The end is so sombre. Silence over credits. It would have been great to actually HAVE an ending, but to be honest, you know what they say. In game design, it's the journey there, not the arrival.

I will definitely be looking at the other games you have made!

TheSpydog responds:

Thanks so much! :D I'm really glad you enjoyed it so much. And thanks for that encouragement! I plan on making games for as long as I can. :)

---SPOILER--
Yeah, I agree. I wish the ending could have been better. Even just a music loop would have been great. However - and this might sound kind of bad - by the time I made the ending, I was really just wanting to get the game finished as soon as possible. I didn't have any extra music tracks to use for it, and so I just kept it quiet. My apologies for disappointing you with that.

(Contains minor spoilers. I recommend you play the game to completion before reading this!)

I have to say, that was a real journey of the mind. I love the fact that the "supreme" and "perfect" being asks you questions that you'd really need to soul-search to find the answers to. What emotions would we be better off without?

The sudden end, however, disappointed me somewhat. I was expecting the character's trauma to continue for a while longer, as the sudden and constant insults were actually beginning to make me think. Remembering, however, that this is just a game, and that you, the creator, do not know me, and therefore could not criticise my personality, reminded me of just how vague and general insults can be, and still be felt by someone they weren't really being directed at. You have to pity both the "eternal one" and the protagonist in this one. The computer (It is an assumption on my part that it is a computer) claims to be too "perfect" to feel emotion, even though it has a clear, yet rather twisted human-like personality, yet succumbs to the one thing it claims not to have after seeing the protagonist's painful journey through the rooms.

Anyways, loved the game! I'd like to see more thought-provoking stuff from you, as you have a great idea of how to get in to a player's psyche. Kudos, brother. Kudos.

This is actually quite fun!

I love that you gain momentum upwards from ramps when you jump. Awesome mechanic! Could be used later on in the game for some tricky jumping puzzles maybe? Anyway, loved the art style of the intro, but I have to agree with Boyh in regards to the contrast between the text and the background it sits on. You should make the background of the text box less opaque and make it contrast considerably from the text.

Great fun! Can't wait to see the finished product!

How do you get a strike?

Awesome work, ToffeeGames! ^_^ VERY addictive! One question though..

How do you get a strike? I noticed it sometimes happens randomly. Is it random? If you wouldn't mind posting the answer in the comments, or via a PM, that would be awesome! ^_^

Awesome message conveyance, very fun game.

I loved this game. The message conveyed, for those of you who didn't get it is this.

Companies, organizations, and corporations bully us in to believing that we need their product(s) to survive, or go about our days without issue. 99% of the time, this is NOT the case. Things like personal alarms are a good idea to own, as you never know when it may save you from attack, but as they say, prevention is better than cure. If you don't do stupid things, like going out at night in a rough neighborhood, where you KNOW there is regular crime, then you won't NEED the personal alarm. This is just one example, however, and you're no doubt all bright enough to understand that, and practice personal safety measures every day, so I won't go on.

The game had a great retro style that took me back to my days using a NES. The gameplay was fluid, and even though the combat was very simplistic, it was well programmed, as there is always a way to take down a pedestrian, whether they're spamming punches / shoulder charges or not. I didn't find any use for the "hide in bushes" mechanic though, as I got through the game without using it once.

Kudos to the creator, Randomninen. You did a great job of both conveying a message, and providing the newgrounds visitors with a very entertaining game. Thank you, Randomninen.

Also, I must add, the music was again simplistic, but was catchy, and fit the mood of the game very well.

Can't wait for a sequel. I certainly hope there's one in the works! ^_^

PS. The only reason I didn't give you a 10 is because there is definite room for improvement, such as potentially adding in other moves, like Unit88 suggested below, and character development between Justine and Marcy.
